Cornerstone Hospice’s Leadership Team consists of the officers, directors, managers, and specialists who provide day-to-day guidance for the organization; under direction of our President / Chief Executive Officer.
Charles O. “Chuck” Lee Before joining Cornerstone Hospice as President and Chief Executive Officer in 2013, Chuck had more than 11 years of executive-level hospice experience in developing and executing strategic plans, building leaders, expanding into new markets, increasing patient referrals and daily census, and enhancing volunteer and fund-raising efforts. Chuck holds a Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, from Loyola University in New Orleans, LA. He earned his Master of Arts at The George Washington University, Washington, DC, and his Master of Business Administration at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Madison, WI. Also, Chuck has completed an extended internship in Clinical Pastoral Education at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola FL, and he is a Permanent Deacon, ordained in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee.
Mary Manrique, BA, BSN, MA Drawing on her more than 15 years of Hospice experience before coming to Cornerstone Hospice in 1999, Mary provides overall management and guidance for patient and family services for the agency. Mary has been a prior president and CEO of hospices along with experience in fulfilling interim positions. Additionally, she has expertise in organizational psychology, with a wealth of knowledge in organizational development and growth. Mary received both her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Indiana University. Her master’s degree in Pastoral Counseling was earned at St. Thomas University in Miami.
Nick Buchholz
Lucy W. Ertenberg, MD
Dr. Lucy W. Ertenberg is board certified in Family Medicine as well as Hospice and Palliative Medicine. A graduate of Indiana University Medical School, Indianapolis, Indiana, she completed her Family Practice Residency at St Luke’s Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Dr. Ertenberg has been dedicated to quality palliative and end-of-life-care for the last ten years.
David Jones, CPA and MBA/Healthcare Chief Financial Officer
David has served as either a hospital CFO or Controller for many years, including Assistant Vice President/Controller for Central Florida Health Alliance. He is a CPA and a Certified Electronic Data Processing Auditor. He is a member of Healthcare Financial Management Association. He received his MBA/Healthcare from William Howard Taft University.
Deb Harley
Deb Harley joined Cornerstone Hospice in early 2010 with a great deal of Hospice experience. Previously, she was the CEO for Hospice of Volusia Flagler for many years, and then held the position of Executive Director for Good Shepherd Hospice. After working with Tidewell Hospice, she left the state of Florida to join a Hospice in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She brings a great deal of Hospice experience to Cornerstone. She is now Executive Director of our division serving Polk, Hardee, and Highlands counties.
Cindi Harris-Panning, RN, BBA Vice President, Executive Director - Orange, Osceola Counties
Cindi came to Cornerstone Hospice in January 2005 with 20 years of hospice experience. She oversaw the operation of the Lake and Sumter patient teams, volunteer program, education program, medical records, the supplemental pool and our palliative care program. She is now Executive Director of our division serving patients and families in Orange and Osceola counties.
Rhonda White
Rhonda had 10 years of experience in hospice and palliative care when she came to Cornerstone Hospice in 2008. She first began her career as a Social Worker then moved to the field of Compliance in 2001. As the VP of Quality & Compliance, she oversees the organization's efforts to comply with the Laws and Regulations. She monitors and evaluates our performance improvement efforts and helps the organization find new and creative ways to constantly improve quality. She supervises the Health Information Management, Education, Quality, and Risk Management Departments.
Senior Management Team
Lou Acuff, RN, CHPN
Neil's background in social services spans both management and fieldwork. Since coming to Hospice in 1994 he has worked in both fields of social work and bereavement counseling. Currently he is managing a professional staff of Social Workers/Counselors who provide services in homes, long term care facilities, hospitals, admissions and other areas as needed.
Barbara has been with Cornerstone Hospice since 1993, and has worked as a pool nurse, team nurse, admissions nurse, clinician, admissions manager, and education manager. Her current duties as Executive Manager of Services include managing the Pool, On Call, and Blue, Yellow, Gold and Emerald teams.
Julia A. Allen
Linda R Arredondo, BAHCA, RN, CHPN Admissions Manager-Lake/Sumter and Referral Center Manager
Linda joined Cornerstone Hospice in 2005 and has served as a Clinical Liaison, RN Case Manager for the Villages Team and Clinical Liaison Educator before accepting the Admissions Manger position. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Healthcare Administration from Ashford University and is Nationally Board Certified in Hospice and Palliative Care. Her prior experience includes practice management, oncology, cardiology, pulmonary, critical care and hospice nursing. Linda manages the Referral Center and Admissions staff for Lake and Sumter Counties and is the Specialty Program Coordinator for the Cornerstone Rhythms program.
Alicia Cato, RN, BSN, CHPN
Alicia joined Cornerstone Hospice in 2006 and has been a Case Manager on the Ruby Team, RN Clinician for Orange/Osceola counties, an Admissions Supervisor (Orange, Osceola, Polk, Hardee and Highlands counties), the Education Manager responsible for internal clinical education, and currently is the Risk Manager. She has a BSN from the University of Florida, and her prior experience includes critical care, dialysis, RN Specialist with the Florida Department of Elder Affairs, and hospital case management.

DJ came to Cornerstone Hospice with fifteen years of experience in the computer technology field in 2000. The Information Technology department is charged with the responsibility of supporting and providing the organization with solutions to effectively and efficiently meet its current and future computer and related needs.
Ann Harr, R.N.
Cindy Hoover
Cindy joined the Hospice staff in 2000 as Executive Assistant to the CEO. She has more than 16 years of experience in hospice development and administration. She is past Membership Chair of the Grant Professionals Network and a past Ambassador of the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce.
Barbara Lockwood, BA, JCA, SPHR Barbara has 20 years of experience in the HR field, 9 of them in hospice. Prior to joining Cornerstone she was the Business Manager for the Cincinnati branch of Vitas Hospice. Barbara began at Cornerstone as the Recruiter, advanced to Compensation Analyst and then to Human Resources Manager. She is responsible for all HR activities in her counties. Barbara also is responsible for physician credentialing and recruitment advertising on a company-wide basis. She is co-chair of the Employee Rewards and Recognition Team and she is on the advisory council for Orlando Technical Institute.
Patricia came to Cornerstone Hospice in November 2004. For sixteen years prior she had been the Manager for Home Health United in Wisconsin. As the Regional Team Manager in Polk, Highlands, and Hardee Counties, she is responsible for team staffing and education, patient care, coordination with community activities, and ensures her team is fiscally responsible.
Dan joined Cornerstone Hospice in March 2005. With over 30 years experience in management in addition to overseeing commercial, residential construction and facilities management prior to joining Cornerstone, Dan has put his experience in the non-profit community in management, community relations and fund development.
Jill joined Hospice in 1987 and has served as a Nurse, Regional Team Manager and Education Coordinator. She now uses her clinical skills combined with her expertise in information technology to train field staff in clinically documenting patient activity via laptop computers.
Mary Anne came to Cornerstone Hospice in 1992 as a staff accountant in the Finance Department. She earned her bachelor's degree in business from Stetson University. In response to Hospice's continued growth and complexity, Mary Anne has continually increased and broadened both her technical and managerial skills. She now supervises the work of all Finance Department personnel and is the Chief Financial Officer's direct assistant.
Mike has 13 years experience in the Human Resources field. Prior to joining Cornerstone Hospice he was the Human Resources Director with Presbyterian Village North, a Continuous Care Retirement Center in Dallas, Texas. Mike is the Diversity Chair with the Lake-Sumter Society for Human Resources Management as well as serving as a member of the Cornerstone Hospice Diversity Council. Mike has fiduciary responsibility for the Cornerstone Hospice 403(b) Employee Retirement Plan. Among his other responsibilities are oversight of compensation, benefits, employee relations, recruitment and workforce planning and employment.
Loretta’s career with Cornerstone began in 1991 as a case manager. Prior to coming to hospice she worked in home health, assisted living facilities, hospital and office settings. She made the transition from field staff to supervisor in 2004 when she took the position of Supervisor of the Pool. She is now Manager of the Cornerstone Hospice Staffing Pool.
Jack has been a nurse over 30 years with prior Oncology and Critical Care background. Beginning as a volunteer with Hospice of Dutchess County NY in 1987, Jack moved to Florida in 1991 to pursue his career in hospice. Jack joined Cornerstone Hospice in 1998 after working at two other hospices in Orlando. Jack graduated from Colombia Presbyterian University School of Nursing and is currently a Certified Hospice and Palliative Care nurse. Jack has worked in many areas of Cornerstone Hospice and currently is the Manager of the Mike Conley Hospice House Inpatient Unit located in Clermont.
Donna graduated from Kettering College of Medical Arts, Kettering, Ohio in May 1993 and began working at Kettering Memorial Hospital on the Oncology floor. In November 1993 she came to Cornerstone Hospice as a field nurse for The Villages team. In 2005 she became a Patient Care Supervisor for The Villages Hospice House. In October 2008 she was named Regional Team Manager for The Villages Hospice House. She is a Certified Hospice Palliative Nurse.
Julie started with Cornerstone Hospice in 1992 and has 20 years of Hospice experience as a Case Manager, Clinical Liaison, Clinician, Hospice House Staff Nurse, and 6 years as a Clinical Educator prior to being named Education Manager in 2012. She has a bachelor's degree from The University of Central Florida. Julie is Nationally Board Certified In Hospice & Palliative Care and is a Hospice & Palliative Nurses Association Approved Educator, ELNEC Certified Trainer, Member of Lake Sumter State College Nursing Advisory Board, and Member of Lake Technical Nursing Advisory Board. Her prior nursing experience includes Oncology Nursing and Pediatrics. The Education Department is responsible for staff development and all internal clinical education.
Emilie began her hospice career in 1988 and is a certified hospice nurse. She came to Cornerstone Hospice in 2001 and has been the Medical Records/QI/Compliance Manager and On-call Manager. She is now the Regional Team Manager for homecare teams located in central Lake County.
