Inpatient Care

At Cornerstone Hospice and Palliative Care, we recognize that some patients may not be able to remain in their homes for Hospice care due to having no caregiver, a very frail caregiver, or other reasons. For these patients, we provide four conveniently located Hospice houses where they or their loved ones will receive the same degree of quality and compassionate care that our in-home patients receive. Our Hospice houses are places where loving words, respectful listening, shared remembrances, a touch or embrace, can bring peace and closeness during the precious time that remains for those nearing the end of life.  Here, residents find acceptance, hope, empathy, and encouraging self-help.

By opening the section "Hospice Houses" (see right panel on this page) and clicking on each house, you may take a virtual tour of these beautiful places of comfort and care. Any Hospice patient from anywhere -- even from outside our coverage area -- may be accepted into one of these caring houses which are located in Lake and Sumter counties.  Because Cornerstone Hospice is a 501(c)3, not-for-profit, community based, healthcare organization, our Hospice houses are built through generous donations of the people who live in the communities where the houses are located.  If you would like to find out how to have one in your community in another one of our coverage areas, please contact our Cornerstone Hospice Foundation at 352-343-1341, toll free 888-728-6234 or email foundation@cornerstonehospice.org.

In addition to inpatient care at our Hospice houses, we offer inpatient care in beds and units in contracted facilities throughout our service area to provide exceptional care to patients who do not live near one of our Hospice houses.  To learn more, please read the article "Inpatient Care Units" listed in the "Also in This Section" menu on the right of this page.
