Turning Challenges into Opportunities

Challenges are what drive us at Cornerstone Hospice.  We see them as nothing more than chances to prove we can rise to a higher level than some thought possible.  Facing these challenges and creating opportunities for success are how we built our reputation.

The challenges are out there.  On the most personal level, our staff work every day with patient challenges and those who love and care for them.  Most days, it means finding just the right combination of care to bring physical, emotional and spiritual comfort to someone in pain.  At other times it is more dramatic—creating a special wish that seemed beyond reach, building a new Hospice House, delivering holiday meals to patient’s homes or creating the right atmosphere to bring dignity and peace at the end of life.

For more than a year, the Hospice community has been on the edge of our collective seat, watching the political process that has consumed health care reform provide us additional challenges.  The struggling economy meant that new ways had to be developed  to not only continue to provide all of the services we are committed to, but also to keep moving forward and reaching out to all those who need our help.

There have been many people over the years that have influenced our growth and advanced Cornerstone’s work, but we would not have been nearly as successful without the tremendous support of our donors.  Dollar for dollar, every gift to Cornerstone Hospice directly impacts patients and the families we serve.

We are thankful each day for your continued support.  On behalf of the families and individuals who have benefited from your generosity, thank you.
