Alfred and Vera Reetz lived frugally in retirement. The couple lived in a house in the Bassville Park area on Lake Eustis. They were avid environmentalists, recycling everything from pill bottles to paper clips. The two never wanted to waste anything. Even when they died, Alfred and Vera only left one thing unused: $1.2 million. The late Leesburg nurses gave the largest cash donation on record to the Cornerstone Hospice Foundation.
